Natural Treatments for Acne

Acne is the sort of problem that can strike at any age, it seems. While we tend to associate it with teenagers, it can flare at various other points in your life, like when you are 50!Your Hormones play a key role in the development of acne.
Nutrition and other factors such as seasons also have an effect on skin eruptions.
You may be looking for natural treatments for acne.
You know the “chemical” acne treatments sold over the counter can be harsh and/or ineffective.
Here are some ideas for natural treatments for acne, regardless your age @ time time of
outbreak.

1. Take a Good Multivitamin in capsule, powder, or liquid form only
Many people are deficient in key vitamins and minerals. The nutrients most important for the treatment and prevention of acne are:
Vitamin A
Zinc
Vitamin E
Selenium
Chromium
If you can’t find a supplement with all of these nutrients, you can take some of these separately,
or increase your dietary intake of these key vitamins and minerals.

2. Diet
The role of the diet is somewhat controversial with regard to controlling acne. For example, the great chocolate dilemma – does eating it cause acne? – is not yet resolved. Vitamins and minerals are important in the healing of acne so it makes perfect sense that what you eat assists in managing the outbreaks. Some Experts recommend cutting back on dairy products, especially milk, as the hormones and trans- fatty acids it contains can worsen acne.
Refined sugar also exacerbates the acne outbreak due to the the effect sugar has on the pancreas where insulin is produced. Sources say there is a definite connection between effective sugar metabolism and skin integrity. Some Dermatologists have given insulin shots to their non-diabetic patients in order to improve and manage their acne. It is not advisable for non-diabetic acne sufferers to inject ourselves with insulin. One possibility, just cut out using refined sugar. Studies also show that refined sugar use leads to increased need for the pancreas to produce more insulin to metabolize it. So, do your skin and organs a favor and don’t make them work so hard.

Fresh, real whole foods are necessary in the treatment of acne, and just good for you in general. Processed (not real food) foods contain artificial dyes and preservatives, and things we have trouble pronouncing, that affect hormone levels in the human body. Eat real food.

Acne Healing Protocols
Helping your acne heal also means applying treatments to your skin. Soaps containing Sulfur can
assists your skin to fight the bacteria that is acne.
Two Natural Options:
2 Tablespoons of plain yogurt
1 tablespoon of raw honey
Mix together and apply to the acne skin
Gently massage on the skin and leave it on for up to 15 minutes
This is a good skin cleanser for the acne skin as honey and yogurt help balance skin bacteria
Rinse with warm water.

Apply this as a cleanser or to clean skin and massage gently. Leave it on for as long as possible, up to 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Yogurt and honey help balance bacteria on the skin.

Grind rolled oats into fine powder. I use my coffee grinder for this step.
Mix the oatmeal with enough water to make a paste
Apply with fingers
Leave on until moist (not completely dry) then rinse off.
Alternatively, you can also mix the oatmeal powder with plain yogurt.
