Hydrosols can be used both internally and externally provided they come from a nontoxic plant.
They have a light smell and flavor( yes you can cook with hydrosols) and pair amazingly great with your skincare recipes.
I like to use hydrosols in lotions, body mists, baby products and mouthwash.
What used for:
Externally
slightly astringent in nature and are wonderful as a daily skin tonic.
hydration for dry skin types
as toners for balancing PH of skin.
acne prone skin and oily skin types
How to use:
simply spray them directly onto freshly cleansed skin.
Then moisturizer – wait at least 30 seconds for moisturizer to soak in before applying makeup.
Your skin will feel refreshed and hydrated.
Some of my favorite hydrosols are-
Chinese High Mountain Chamomile
- Frankincense
- Jasmine
- Lavender
- Lemon Verbena
- Rose
- Thyme–for face toxins (see my acne article)
- Rose
- Peppermint
Here’s to happy, properly hydrated skin!
